Nordin Kapic and sophomore
Aidan Burke were named to the Academic All-District Team as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday. Both Kapic and Burke are first time honorees at UC San Diego.
Aidan Burke (Los Gatos, Calif.) is a business economics major with a 3.81 grade point average. On the court, Burke played in all 35 games this season, shooting 39% from three-point range and committing just nine turnovers.
Nordin Kapic (Vienna, Austria) maintains a 3.52 grade point average as an international studies -- international business major. Kapic started all 33 games in which he played, averaging nearly 11 points and better than five rebounds per game.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
To be eligible, student-athletes must hold a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must have played in 90% of the team's games. Freshmen are not eligible for consideration.
In their first season eligible for NCAA Division I postseason play, the Tritons won 30 games on the way to capturing a Big West regular season and tournament title and an appearance in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
