HOW IT HAPPENED vs. UCLA
The game opened with the teams trading goals. UCLA got on the board in the first minute of play. Caroline Christl answered two minutes later by converting a five-meter penalty shot. However, the Bruins caught fire, scoring the game's next five goals, four before the first quarter ended. That 5-1 lead after the first quarter proved to be the difference.

The teams matched one another the rest of the way. The Tritons and Bruins each scored twice in the second, three times in the third, and once in the fourth quarter.

Christl had another big outing, finishing with a hat trick. Lucia Doak, Kendall Thomas, Sofia Munatones, and Sydney Munatones each scored single goals.

Bria Zwaschka made 11 stops in net for UC San Diego.
HOW IT HAPPENED vs. LONG BEACH STATE
UC San Diego made a valiant comeback bid but fell short.

The Beach led 10-4 after three quarters.

The Tritons out-scored their opponent 5-0 in the fourth frame, but couldn't find the equalizer.

Christl matched her three-goal performance from the UCLA game. Thomas scored twice and Zwaschka turned aside 10 Long Beach State bids.
