LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego ripped nine shots on goal, but the Tritons were unable to find the back of the net Sunday afternoon, playing to a 0-0 draw vs. CSUN in a Big West match at Triton Soccer Stadium. Freshman goalkeeper
Charlotte Wilfert recorded her fifth clean sheet with a career high-tying six saves for UC San Diego (2-5-5 overall, 0-2-1 Big West). All five Triton draws have been 0-0.
CSUN remained unbeaten in conference action, now at 2-0-2 (4-6-3 overall).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Though neither team scored in the first half, UC San Diego came out applying pressure from the opening kick. The Tritons had a 10-5 advantage in first half shots, including four on frame. Junior
Alexis Nguyen ripped one off the crossbar in the ninth minute and senior
Corinne Wilson fired on-frame in the 41st. Nguyen had three first half shots, two of which were on target.
Nguyen had three more second half shots to pace the Tritons. In the 68th minute, Wilfert made two enormous stops to keep the Matadors off the board.

- UC San Diego's 20 shots are a new season high, and the Tritons' nine shots on frame matched a season best.
- Triton senior Corinne Wilson checked into the match in the 33rd minute, her first action of the season.
- At halftime, UC San Diego honored the 1995 and 2000 national championship teams, celebrating the 30th and 25th anniversary, respectively, of those milestones. UC San Diego women's soccer has won seven national titles across NCAA Division III and II.
- The Tritons wore their white kits, with Wilfert in baby blue.

UC San Diego hits the road for a pair of Big West matches next week. The Tritons will visit UC Davis Thursday in a 6 p.m. match before traveling to Hawai'i Sunday evening.
