2025 Baseball Schedule Announced

LA JOLLA—UC San Diego baseball has released its 2025 schedule, as announced by head coach Eric Newman. The Tritons will begin their first season as a full Division I member on the road at Pacific, Feb. 14-16.

"I am excited to announce our schedule for the upcoming 2025 season," said Newman. "We are looking forward to a challenging non-conference home slate that will help prepare us for the tough competition in the Big West, which is expected to be even stronger this year. Triton Ballpark will be a great place to watch baseball this spring!"

The 53-game regular season will feature 25 games at home in Triton Ballpark. UC San Diego's home opener will be Feb. 18, when the Tritons host San Diego State for the first of two games in a home-and-home series. The second matchup will take place at Tony Gwynn Stadium on April 15.

The annual Tony Gwynn Legacy event, co-hosted with the Aztecs, will take place Feb. 21 through Feb. 23. UC San Diego will take on Pepperdine, California Baptist and Utah in the three-day event and host three neutral matchups featuring Seattle, UC Santa Barbara, Pepperdine and Long Beach State.

The Tritons will play three non-conference series, hosting Cincinnati for a four-game series (Feb. 27-March 2). UC San Diego will travel to face Texas Tech for a pair of games (March 4-5) before Big West Play begins and take on Santa Clara on the road for four games (March 27-30) during the conference bye week.

Big West play begins at home in Triton Ballpark when the Tritons host Cal State Bakersfield (March 7-9). Other home conference series include Long Beach State (March 21-23), CSUN (April 11-13), UC Santa Barbara (April 25-27) and UC Davis (May 9-11).

The Tritons will travel for Big West series at Cal State Fullerton (March 14-16), Cal Poly (April 4-6), UC Riverside (April 17-19) and UC Irvine (May 2-4). UC San Diego will close out the regular season at Hawai'i (May 15-17).

In addition to the midweek series with the Aztecs, UC San Diego will play a home-and-home series against the University of San Diego. The Tritons will travel to Fowler Park on April 8 and host the Toreros in the final home game at Triton Ballpark, May 13. UC San Diego will travel to face California Baptist (March 25) and host Loyola Marymount (April 2) in the remaining midweek contests.

UC San Diego has completed its mandatory four-year Division I reclassification period and all teams are now fully eligible for Big West and NCAA postseason competition. The Tritons were previously ineligible for NCAA championship competition despite winning the program's first Big West championship in 2023. The Big West Baseball Championship is set for May 21-25 at Goodwin Field in Fullerton, Calif.
