LA JOLLA, Calif. – It was a clean sweep for the Tritons on Friday morning, as UC San Diego blanked Calgary in an exhibition match at Northview Tennis Courts in La Jolla. The Tritons were straight set winners on all seven singles courts and won all four doubles courts in a tidy manner to open their home slate.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In doubles action,
Grace Gamal and
Katelyn Vu got the day started with an 8-1 win at No. 2, followed by a same score result from
Kelly Leung and
Allison Lian on No. 1.
Athena Wardy and
Cincy Chen were 8-3 winners on court three, and
Varsha Jawadi and Kayma Nair were 8-1 winners at No. 4.

In singles action, Wardy was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at sixth singles, with
Cincy Chen earning a crisp 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3. After Nair closed out a 6-0, 6-2 win on court five, Gamal clinched the team win for UC San Diego with her 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1.

Other UC San Diego wins Friday included Lian's 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 4, Vu earning a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 2, and Jawadi capturing a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 7.
