LA JOLLA, Calif. — Backed by another multi-goal game by
Landon Akerstrom, the UC San Diego men's water polo team rolled past Concordia, 16-7, Wednesday evening at Canyonview Aquatic Center.
With the non-conference win the Tritons improved to an even 7-7.
The Eagles dropped to 3-12.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego won all four quarters, starting with a 3-0 shutout in the opening period. The Tritons won the second quarter by the same three-goal margin, 4-1.
The third quarter proved to be the closest as UC San Diego had a 3-2 edge.
With the Tritons up 10-3 heading into the last quarter, they out-scored their opponent 6-4 in the fourth.
Akerstrom finished with four goals, the seventh occasion that he has scored multiple times this season. He also assisted on a goal.Â
Three Tritons racked up two goals apiece including
Grant Kurtz,
Trevor Moore, and
Lucas Romaguera. The goals were the first of freshman Kurtz' collegiate career.
Logan Estes played the first half of the game and made six saves while adding a steal.
Nikita Valajev played the next 14:03 and had three saves and a steal.
Parker George closed it out, jumping in for the final 1:57.
Concordia got a hat trick from Harry Bentham. Griffin Beth played all 32 minutes in net and made seven saves while also grabbing a steal.
