LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego baseball adds Justin Beck '19 as assistant coach for the 2025 season, as announced by head coach
Eric Newman. Beck was a scholar-athlete for the Triton baseball program for the 2018 season and spent three seasons as a volunteer assistant from 2019-21.

"Justin was a clear choice with his experience here at UC San Diego as a player and coach, along with his recruiting experience gained over the last couple years. Our players will benefit from his knowledge of infield play and offense, and his work ethic is impeccable. I am thrilled to welcome Justin and Cass back to Triton Baseball!"

Beck joins the Tritons after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at Cal Poly Pomona (2022-24). During his time with the Broncos, Beck served as co-recruiting coordinator while overseeing infielders and hitters.

The 2025 season marks a return to La Jolla for Beck, who served on the UC San Diego coaching staff for three seasons (2019-21). He was an undergraduate assistant coach for the Tritons beginning in August of 2018 while completing his degree. After graduation in 2019, Beck remained on the staff as a volunteer assistant coach and director of operations for two seasons.

Beck was a
one-year Triton in 2018 after spending his first three seasons at San José State from 2015-17. The Upland, Calif. product started 53 of 57 games played at second base during UC San Diego's run to two trophies, hitting .308 with 47 runs, 14 doubles, nine home runs, 41 RBI, 39 walks, and a .983 fielding percentage.

Beck picked up a pair of All-West Region distinctions, as well as All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Second Team honors. He earned his undergraduate degree in communication from UC San Diego in 2019.
