LA JOLLA, Calif. — The UC San Diego men's basketball 2024-25 Big West conference schedule has been released, as announced Thursday afternoon by the conference office. This season will be UC San Diego's fifth in NCAA Division I, and the first after the conclusion of the NCAA's mandated four-year transition period. Beginning this fall, the Tritons are fully postseason eligible.
The 20-game round-robin schedule will see each team play a home-and-home series between Dec. 5 and March 8. With the addition of the conference's
Bold Week on Dec. 5-7, The Big West will maintain its regular Thursday/Saturday competition format.
The Tritons will begin their Big West slate on Thursday, Dec. 5, when they visit UC Santa Barbara. The conference home opener takes place two days later against Cal State Bakersfield inside LionTree Arena.
Big West play resumes after the start of the New Year on Jan. 4 at Cal State Fullerton. Home contests in January include Cal Poly (Jan. 9), UC Irvine (Jan. 11), UC Santa Barbara (Jan. 23), and CSUN (Jan. 25).The UCSB contest on Jan. 23 will be UC San Diego's annual Spirit Night.
February home games include UC Riverside (Feb. 6), UC Davis (Feb. 15), and Hawai'i (Feb. 22). The Tritons will also host Cal State Fullerton (March 1) and Long Beach State (March 6). UC San Diego was 15-5 in Big West action last season, finishing second in the conference standings. The Tritons also went 9-1 in conference home games at LionTree Arena.
Following the regular season finale on March 8 at UC Davis, The Big West Basketball Championships will be held March 12-15 at Lee's Family Forum in Henderson, Nev.
