LOS ANGELES – UC San Diego track and field split the team as the sprints and field went to Cal State Fullerton for the Titan Tune Up invite, and the distance squad went to the Oxy Invitational hosted by Occidental College.

TITAN TUNE UP
Getting the team started on Friday, the sprinters led the way with seven first-place finishes on the women's side and two-first place finishes on the men's side. In the 100-meter dash,
Idara Ibekwe won the event with a time of 12.13. She was joined by
Lauren McBride,
Kate O'Malley, and
Tia Stapleton who took second, third, and fifth respectively. On the men's side,
Anthony Flowers finished fourth with a time of 10.54.

Maxine Schultz led the way in the 200m with a time of 24.49 and was joined by Ibekwe in second, Schiele in fourth, and
Jordyn Thomas in fifth with a season best. Flowers won the event for the Triton men with a time of 21.20 and was joined by
Nolan Crespo who finished third with a time of 21.71. Schultz took another first-place finish in the 400m dash with a time of 55.55, this time Schiele took second with a time of 55.78 and Thomas ran a season best for third with a time of 56.87. On the men's side,
Jake Heinlein took second with a time of 48.66.

Amari Jenkins finished second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.96 and then went on to win the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:00.83. Jenkins moves up in the Big West into the No. 8 spot.
Gloria Kalt joined Jenkins in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:03.40 and both were followed by
Kathryn Tamminga who finished fourth with a time of 1:05.76. In the men's 110m hurdles,
Jeremy Frank ran a season best with a time of 15.02. In the men's 400m,
Henry Xiao finished third.

On the field side,
Lauren Pritchard finished first in high jump with a mark of 1.66m in two attempts and
Kate MacNaughton finished second at 1.66m in three attempts.

In pole vault,
Sky Kezmoh earned a second-place finish with a mark of 3.72m in two attempts and
Julia Di Silvestri finished third with the same mark in three attempts.
Kyle Gibbs snagged first on the men's side with a mark of 5.15m. Another Triton win came from
Tia Stapleton in the long jump with a distance of 5.70m. Di Silvestri finished second at 5.32m,
Destinee Jones took third at 4.93m, and
Gloria Kalt finished fourth with 4.81m.

Tamara Aimufia led the way in triple jump with a mark of 12.27m for the first-place finish. She was joined by Stapleton who finished second at 12.03m,
Chidiebere Agunanne finished third at 11.49m, and Jones finished fourth at 10.99m.
Nathan Yoder led the men's side with a second-place finish with a mark of 14.33m and
Zavier Annis finished third with a distance of 13.08m. In discus,
Alexandra Farfaras took second with a mark of 37.43m and
Gabriella Lopez threw 35.66m for fourth. On the men's side,
Matthew Amankonah finished third in discus with a mark of 50.02m.

Amankonah finished second in men's shot put with a mark of 16.72m and was joined by
Nathan Tripp who finished fourth with a distance of 15.92m. Taking another third-place finish, Amankonah threw a mark of 56.49m in men's hammer.

OCCIDENTAL INVITE
Representing the Tritons at the Occidental Invite, the distance squad posted four new all-time finishes. Leading the way,
Sylvana Northrop broke her own school record in the 5000m with a time of 16:50.59 for fourth-place.
Norah Dulaney joined Northrop in the 5K to finish ninth with a time of 17:26.10. Dulaney moves onto the all-time list in the No. 9 spot.

In the 800m,
Kai Dettman ran a 1:50.37 time to finish ninth overall. This moves him into the No. 2 spot all-time for UC San Diego and No. 8 in the Big West.
Charlie Frank led the gold and blue in the 3000m steeple chase to finish seventh overall with a time of 9:12.95. Frank moves into the No. 6 spot all-time for the event and No. 9 in the conference.

UC San Diego track and field return for their final weekend of competition at the APU Last Chance invite. The meet takes place over May 10 and 11 in Azusa.
