Tritons Fall to #27 Bruins on the Road

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Competing in the team's final road match of the season, the UC San Diego men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to the #27 UCLA Bruins on Sunday afternoon from the Los Angeles Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The home Bruins got off to a strong start on their home courts as they picked up victories at number two and three doubles for the early advantage.
 
UCLA didn't relent throughout singles play as they picked up a trio of two set victories to earn the 4-0 victory through the clinch format.

"We played a little bit better today," UC San Diego head men's tennis coach Timmer Willing said. "We need to apply some tactics we've been working on but were reluctant to commit to them. Another day and another opportunity to make some changes to elevate our level of play."

  • The temperature in Los Angeles was 70 degrees and sunny.  
  • Today marked the fourth time the Tritons and Bruins have matched up since UC San Diego's transition to Division I competition.
UP NEXT
UC San Diego now looks ahead to the season finale tomorrow morning at home. The Tritons will host Cal Poly on Monday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. from the Northview Tennis Courts.
