AZUSA, Calif. – UC San Diego track and field wrapped three days of competition at the Bryan Clay Classic hosted by Azusa Pacific University on Saturday night. Three program records were broken over the course of the invitational by
Zeno Castiglioni,
Sylvana Northrop, and
Kyle Gibbs.

ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE
On Friday,
Sylvana Northrop set the tone for the women as she finished 15th in the 5000m race with a time of 16:53.20 that also broke the program record. Continuing a strong distance performance,
Stella Gladden took 9th in the 5K with a personal record and a Big West qualifying mark.

Moving into the No. 4 spot all-time,
Amari Jenkins ran a personal record in the 100m hurdles. Her time of 14.07 put her 17th overall at the meet. Finishing 15th in the 400m hurdles, Jenkins ran another consistent time for the Tritons.
Kate MacNaughton joined Jenkins in the 100m hurdles and ran a time of 14.35. This was a personal record for the senior and put her 28th overall in the event. The lone Triton running in the 200m,
Idara Ibekwe ran her second-best time of the season to finish 39th.
In the field,
Tia Stapleton posted her own personal record in the triple jump with a mark of 12.05m (39'6.5") to finish 14th. After competing on the track, MacNaughton jumped a 1.69m (5'6.5") placing her in second overall.

ON THE MEN'S SIDE
Zeno Castiglioni led the men's effort on Thursday night when he ran an 8:54.23 time to finish 13th in the 3000m steeplechase open. This is Castiglioni's third record broken so far this season and his second time breaking the steeplechase record. Keeping it going in distance,
Evan Hild ran a personal record in the 5K to earn a Big West qualifying mark and finished 38th overall with a time of 14:43.98.

Joining Castiglioni in the record books,
Kyle Gibbs broke his own school record from last season as he vaulted a height of 5.20m (17' 0¾"). The mark carried him to the first-place finish at the meet.

Finishing fourth in shot put,
Nathan Tripp threw a mark of 15.98m (52' 5.25"). In the same event,
Ian Gammal finished 25th with a mark of 13.38m (43' 10.75").

QUOTABLE
With three school program records falling, head coach
Kim Graham-Miller said, "the team's hard work is paying off and there were a lot of highlights across the whole meet."

She added, "nearly every one of our meets have been ran in poor weather conditions so I am proud of the results we had this weekend despite the challenges."
