SAN DIEGO -Â UC San Diego women's water polo won its fifth-consecutive game Saturday, taking down Concordia, 13-7.
It was the 13th-ranked Tritons'Â first game of San Diego State's Aztec Invitational. With the victory, they improved to 12-8.
The Golden Eagles dropped to 9-12.
UC San Diego was slated to play two games Saturday. However, the 5:20 p.m. contest against No. 17 San Jose State, was canceled. The tournament was running at least an hour behind with game start times. The Aztec Aquaplex does not have lights, so it was mutually agreed upon to cancel the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego scored the first two goals of the game and was able to stay in front the rest of the way.
Leading by just a single goal at 2-1 following the opening quarter, the Tritons broke the game open in the second frame, out-scoring Concordia 6-2.
The Golden Eagles had a 26-25 edge in shots, but UC San Diego held a .520 to .269 shot percentage.
Caroline Christl recorded a hat trick while
Courtney Okumura had two goals and an assist for UC San Diego. Goalie
Lexi Stahl turned 11 Concordia shots into saves.
The Golden Eagles got three goals from Andie Perreira, while Tamsyn Evezard added two. Tea Summers finished with six saves in net.

• UC San Diego's last five-game win streak came in 2023 between April 7 and April 28. The Tritons defeated UC Davis twice, CSUN, UC Santa Barbara, and San Diego State.
