Road Trip Wraps with Setback at Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – UC San Diego wrapped up its Northern California trip Thursday afternoon, falling to Sacramento State, 4-0, at Sacramento State Tennis Courts. The Tritons have now lost four consecutive matches after winning their prior three.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Looking for their first win over the Tritons, Sacramento State edged UC San Diego on courts one and two to take the doubles point. In singles play, the Hornets clinched the victory with straight-sets wins at the first, second, and third positions.

QUOTABLE
"We had a lot of chances today – particularly in doubles. Unfortunately, we weren't able to convert, and they played with really high energy in singles," said UC San Diego head coach Sebastian Bader. "Overall, this was a tough trip results-wise, but we got better with every match. We figured some things out in doubles and are getting better in singles. We're going to keep working hard and be ready for UCR [on April 7]."
