LA JOLLA, Calif. – Sebastian Lara had 16 kills and Anthony Cherfan followed with 13 to lead the 18th-ranked UC San Diego men's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory against Harvard Tuesday night at LionTree Arena.
Set scores were 25-21, 25-16, 18-25, and 25-20.
The Tritons improved to 9-10 overall while the Crimson dropped to 9-6.
Harvard is receiving votes in this week's national poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Overall, the match had 26 tie scores and just nine lead changes. All but six tie scores came in the first and second sets.
Harvard owned a .257 (48-19-113) to .246 (50-22-114) edge in attack percentage and a 10 to six lead in blocks.
UC San Diego was tough from the service line, flooring nine aces to the opponents' two.
Lara's 16 kills were a career-best. He was efficient on offense, hitting .355 with five errors in 31 swings.
Cherfan collected a team-high 17.5 points by adding four aces and a block to his kill total.
Jim Garrison hit .667 with seven kills and just one error in nine attack attempts. He also had a pair of aces, two digs, and a block.
Peter Selcho and Gabriel Dyer each had four blocks. Dyer also contributed 30 assists and six digs.
Libero Evan Boyle led the Tritons with eight digs.
For Harvard, Owen Fanning had a match-high 17 kills. Logan Shepherd led all players with nine digs.
The Tritons' most potent attack came in the second set when they compiled a .571Â hitting percentage with 14 kills and two errors in 21 attempts.
Not surprisingly, Harvard's top attack came in the third set when it hit .406 with 14 kills and one error in 32 attempts.
