BOSTON – The UC San Diego men's basketball team moved up three spots to No. 17 in this week's Mid-Major Top 25® college basketball poll. 17th is the Tritons' highest ranking in this poll since moving to Division I.
In its lone game of the week,
UC San Diego bested Idaho, 80-56, Sunday in Moscow.
Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones and
Tyler McGhie each scored 21 in the win, with
Nordin Kapic grabbing 10 rebounds and
Hayden Gray amassing five steals. The win was the Tritons' seventh consecutive – the program's longest win streak in its Division I era. The Tritons currently lead Division I in turnover margin at 8.4 and rank second nationally in fewest turnovers at 8.7 per game.
Now in its 26th season, the Mid-Major Top 25® is voted on by 31 Division I coaches. The poll is announced every Monday.

The Tritons are in the midst of a three-game road trip. UC San Diego plays at unbeaten Utah State (10-0) on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. PT. The Aggies are off to the best start in program history.
