LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Big West announced the men's soccer conference postseason awards on Tuesday afternoon with three Tritons named to the list.
Max Carvalho earned his third Big West nod as he was named to the All-Conference Second Team. He is joined by redshirt freshman
Quinn Sellers and true freshman
Kai Oppenheim, who both earn their first postseason honors as they were named to the All-Freshmen Team.
Â
In his fourth year as a Triton,
Max Carvalho led the gold and blue with 13 points scoring five goals with three assists. The senior finished the season with a 51.4% shots-on goal percentage over 1,355 minutes of play. The Aliso Viejo product started all 18 matches wearing no. 23. This is his third Big West honor after earning a spot on the All-Freshmen Team in 2021 and then earned a spot on the Second Team in 2022. This season was his most offensively productive year and his most aggressive season as he took 10 more shots overall and five more on target.

Starting all 18 matches this season, redshirt-freshman
Quinn Sellers had a standout season as a critical force on the frontlines for the gold and blue. Earning a brace of assists against Sacramento State, Sellers added two goals against Utah Valley and CSUN for a total of 6 points. His goal against the Matadors was the game winner as the Tritons earned a gritty 1-0 result in La Jolla. Aggressive up front, the redshirt-freshman earned four yellow cards in his debut season and played a total of 1,300 minutes.
Â
Kai Oppenheim lifted the Tritons coming off the bench in 16 matches with two starts. The true freshman racked up 8 points scoring three goals with two assists. His brace against Air Force was a memorable one as he scored his first collegiate goal and then on his second goal, he ripped a shot from the Tritons' half of the field to score and earn his team a decisive 3-0 win. Oppenheim's second game winner came against Cal Poly as his lone goal held the Mustangs at bay for a 1-0 Triton victory. After playing 796 minutes, Oppenheim tallied three yellow cards, 18 shots total, and five shots on goal.
