RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Sylvana Northrop led the UC San Diego cross country squads at their Big West Championship debuts as she finished sixth overall in the women's 6K. The Triton women finished fourth as a team and the men finished fifth.

ON THE MEN'S SIDE
Starting the day with the men's 8K race,
Jordan Haney led the Triton men to a fifth-place team finish in their Big West championship debut. Haney ran a time of 24:17.7 to take 17th in the field of 86 runners.
Zeno Castiglioni added his support finishing 21st with a time of 24:26.7.

Rounding out the top finishes for the men was
Evan Hild in 30th and
Charlie Frank in 31st.

ON THE WOMEN'S SIDE
Making their Big West championship debut, the Triton women finished fourth overall with two top 15 finishes.
Sylvana Northrop led the way again for the sixth time this season. The Cupertino runner earned a sixth-place finish running a time of 20:04.1. She is the first cross country Triton to earn All-Conference honors for her top 10 performance.

Emma Dunmire joined Northrop finishing 15th overall with a time of 20:43.5. Dunmire and Northrop led the Tritons two weeks ago on the same course.

UP NEXT
The Tritons will travel north to the NCAA West Regional Championships hosted by Washington State in Colfax on Nov. 15. This will be the first NCAA Division I postseason appearance for UC San Diego cross country.
