LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego sophomore goalkeeper
Ginny Fronk has been named The Big West Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Friday afternoon by the conference office.
Playing her first season as a Triton, Fronk posted a clean sheet and registered a career-high 14 saves Thursday night in UC San Diego's 2-0 victory over Cal Poly. The shutout was Fronk's third of the season, and the 14 saves doubled her previous season best.
Fronk is the fourth Triton to earn Big West Defensive Player of the Week accolades since UC San Diego joined the conference in 2021. Teammate

Keara Fitzgerald was recognized with this honor last October, and center back
Katelyn Meyer was honored during the 2022 season.
UC San Diego concluded its season Thursday night. The Tritons earned a result in three of their final four Big West matches.
