SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – On the road at Cal State Fullerton, UC San Diego men's soccer fell to the Titans in a 4-1 result.
UC San Diego drops to 1-2 in Big West play and 2-6-4 overall. The Titans remain undefeated in conference play at 2-0-1 and improve to 6-3-4 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Early in the first half, a Titan error allowed UC San Diego to go ahead early at 1-0 in the seventh minute. On a break away,
Cole Barrett sent the ball into the box looking for
Max Carvalho when a CSF defender deflected the pass into the goal.
UC San Diego held the lead well into the second half as
Nolan Premack faced 14 shots before the Titans were able to equalize in the 63rd minute. The Titans buried another goal two minutes later in the 65th making the score 2-1.
Cal State Fullerton went on to win 4-1 as they scored two more goals in the 84th and 86th minutes.
The hosts outshot the Tritons 22 to 5.
Nolan Premack made three saves as he faced seven shots on goal. CSF's keeper made three of his own saves as the Tritons forced two saves in the first half and one in the second.
