LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego women's tennis newcomer
Julia Haynes will represent The Big West at the ITA Conference Masters Championships next week at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga. Playing as a Triton for the first time, Haynes won the singles title at the Beach Fall Tournament and, later in October, she advanced to the third round of the ITA Southwest Regional Championships.
A graduate transfer and San Diego-area native, Haynes was selected to represent The Big West at this year's Masters. Each NCAA Division I conference designated one singles player and one doubles team from each gender to participate in the event.
Â
The 2024 ITA Conference Masters Championship will have a draw size of 32 singles players and 32 doubles pairs. Four players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship. Meanwhile, three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Conference Masters (champion, finalist, third place).
Â
Action begins on Nov. 7 at the Rome Tennis Center. Draws will be announced soon.
