QUOTABLE
"LMU came out ready as expected and I'm sure they had memories of last year's extremely competitive match and were not going to come in unprepared," UC San Diego head men's tennis coach Timmer Willing said. "We had tough fight during doubles before falling short as we were outworked today physically and mentally. We learned where we are lacking in preparation and need to make progress in our weaknesses. It's been an extremely busy month and we have played some tough matches and come up short. We should have a full lineup back in the next couple of weeks and it's time to evaluate our individual progress that needs to come as we progress into the next match."

TRITON TIDBITS
  • The UC San Diego duo of Rodriguez and Pellouchoud continue to shine in doubles as they improved their season record to 3-2 and move to 2-2 when competing in the one spot in the lineup.

UC San Diego will be back in the greater Los Angeles area next Saturday as they're set for a neutral site match up against the San Francisco Dons on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ralph-Straus Tennis Center in Malibu.
