LA JOLLA, Calif. – Visiting LMU got a goal in the 31st minute and made it hold up as the Lions blanked the Tritons, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Triton Soccer Stadium. With the victory, LMU improves to 5-3 on the season while the Tritons drop to 1-4-2 with Sunday's setback.

HOW IT HAPPENED
LMU broke a scoreless deadlock in the 31st minute when Kailey Park fed Madison Werner who scored to put the visitors on top, one-nil. The Lions out-shot UC San Diego, 7-4, in the first half. The Tritons' best chance came in the 42' when freshman
Karize Madero sent one in from distance. Her shot sailed high.

After halftime, neither team was able to find the back of the net, though both had chances. The Tritons generated the only corner kick of the second half, but the opportunity did not result in a direct shot attempt. For the match, LMU earned two corners to UC San Diego's one.

Keara Fitzgerald finished with eight saves for UC San Diego while LMU's JJ Hoover posted a clean sheet with four stops.
