LA JOLLA, Calif. – World-renowned soccer club Manchester United wrapped up training at UC San Diego's Triton Soccer Stadium and RIMAC Fields last week. The Premier League side was in the United States to take part in a preseason tour, playing four matches across the country. ManU held its training at UC San Diego during its US stay.
Manchester United was not the first pro team to train on the UC San Diego campus in recent years. Toronto FC of Major League Soccer trained here earlier this winter prior to the 2023 season, and fellow MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps FC have trained here twice since 2020. In 2018, AS Roma of Italian Serie A
prepped for the International Champions Cup at the Tritons' facility in La Jolla.
