Chancellor Khosla Hosts Annual Breakfast of Champions

Several scholar-athletes recognized for academic, athletic success

LA JOLLA, Calif. – A number of UC San Diego scholar-athletes and champions were recognized for their remarkable achievements in competition and/or the classroom with an invite to the exclusive Breakfast of Champions, an annual tradition hosted by UC San Diego Chancellor Pradeep Khosla. Members of the Triton women's swimming team, baseball team, men's and women's tennis team, and fencing teams attended the event, which took place on June 6 at the Audrey Geisel University House in La Jolla.

Khosla celebrated the Triton scholar-athletes for their achievements during the 2022-23 academic year in athletic competitions, in the classroom, and in serving their community.

After two decades as one of the most successful programs in NCAA Division II, the UC San Diego intercollegiate athletics program has begun a new era as a member of the Big West Conference in NCAA Division I. The 23-sport Tritons earned 30 team and nearly 150 individual national championships during its time in Divisions II and III and helped guide 1,400 scholar-athletes to All-America honors. A total of 83 Tritons have earned Academic All-America honors, while 38 have garnered prestigious NCAA Post Graduate Scholarships.
