LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego baseball fell in game two with CSUN, 10-1, on Saturday afternoon in Triton Ballpark. The Tritons (27-17, 15-8 Big West) moved to 5-4 in the all-time series with the Matadors (26-14, 12-8 Big West) and the weekend series is now even, 1-1.

Matt Halbach finished 2-for-4 with a double,
Noah Sudyka went 1-for-2 with an RBI and
Brock Kleszcz finished 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Anthony Eyanson (2-1) was credited with the loss, going 2.1 innings and allowing two runs on three hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego threatened early, with two runners on and two outs but the Tritons came up empty-handed. An inning later the Tritons put the first run on the board, scoring on a Sudyka RBI single to right field in the bottom of the second to lead 1-0.

CSUN responded with its biggest offensive inning of the contest, scoring six runs on five hits in the top of the third. The Matadors added a run in the fifth and a run in the sixth to extend their lead, 8-1.

UC San Diego was unable to cut into the deficit further, stranding a runner in the fourth, sixth and eighth and finishing 1-for-2 with runners in scoring position.Â

The Matadors added two more runs in the top of the ninth to take the contest, 10-1, and even the series.

TRITON TIDBITS
- Anthony Eyanson and Chris Gilmartin both tallied a team-best three strikeouts in 2.1 innings.
- Matt Halbach turned in the only multi-hit performance and Noah Sudyka was credited with the Tritons' only run batted in.
- The Tritons dropped to 5-4 in the all-time series with CSUN.
