LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego baseball fell in the series finale with CSUN, 11-0, on Sunday afternoon in Triton Ballpark. In their final home game of the season, the Tritons (27-18, 15-9 Big West) were unable to come away with the victory, moving to 5-5 in the all-time series with the Matadors (27-14, 13-8 Big West) and falling, 2-1, in the weekend series.

Brandon Larson registered the only hits for the Tritons in the contest. Starter
Michael Mitchell (2-1) was credited with the loss, pitching 2.0 innings and giving up two runs—one earned—on three hits, no walks and three strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
CSUN scored a single run in the first, second and fourth innings to build a 3-0 lead.
The Tritons got a runner on base in the first with one out and the third with no outs but were unable to capitalize either inning. UC San Diego got its first runner in scoring position in the fifth with two on and two outs, but again the Tritons came up empty-handed.
The Matadors did most of their damage in the seventh inning, bringing in seven runs on six hits to extend their lead 10-0. The Tritons threatened in the bottom of the inning with their best opportunity of the day, advancing two runners into scoring position with two outs but were unable to put a run on the board.
CSUN tacked on one more run in the top of the eighth with a solo home run to make it 11-0.

- The Tritons honored 13 seniors prior to their final home game of the season, including Aren Alvarez, Cole Dale, Michael Fuhrman, Chris Gilmartin, Luke Glascoe, Emiliano Gonzalez, Ethan Holt, Izaak Martinez, Michael Mitchell, Crew Robinson, Joe Soberon, Jalen Smith and student manager Gabe Montoya.
- Emiliano Gonzalez, Brandon Larson and Jalen Smith recorded the only hits for the Tritons.
- The Tritons dropped to 5-5 in the all-time series with CSUN.
