DAVIS, Calif. – UC San Diego split the series opening doubleheader with UC Davis on Saturday afternoon. In game one,
Jada Cecil held the Aggies to three hits and a single run to win 2-1. The score flipped in game two as the UC Davis was able to score two runners to the Tritons' one.

Jada Cecil tossed her tenth complete game of the season with seven strikeouts. The sophomore held the Aggies to three hits and a single run. Cecil moves to 8-9 with this win and finished the day with a 1.91 ERA.

At the plate,
Bobbi Aguirre led the Tritons going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Clarissa Reynoso knocked in a run as well on her lone hit. Four other Tritons recorded a single hit with
Morgan Eng and
Marissa Hassis each scoring a run.

In game two,
Shelby Thompson got the start in the circle. The lefty allowed one run on four hits with a walk and a strikeout. Thompson forced six groundouts and four flyouts during her four innings of work.
Gabby Williams came in for an inning of work and allowed one run on two hits with two strikeouts.
Kaia Simpson finished in relief and allowed no runs and no hits with a walk and a strike.

At the plate, shortstop
Hailey Mulligan was a perfect 3-for-3 with two singles and a triple.
Clarissa Reynoso added her support with a double and a walk. Three other Tritons recorded a hit with eight left on base in game two.
UC SAN DIEGO 2, UC DAVIS 1
Getting on the board first, the Tritons scored two runs in the first inning.
Morgan Eng started the inning by reaching on an Aggie error.
Marissa Hassis advanced Eng into scoring position on a single laced through the right side.
Keila Bosinger's sac bunt advanced both runners to third and second.
Bobbi Aguirre was then able to put down a bunt for a suicide squeeze allowing Eng to score and advancing Hassis to third.
Clarissa Reynoso sent a single over the second baseman's head in right field for a shallow single that gave Hassis just enough time to score.

Jada Cecil proceeded to fan seven Aggies over six innings. In the bottom of the seventh, UC Davis responded with a solo homerun. The right-hander proceeded to force three ground outs to finish the game before any more damage was done.

UC DAVIS 2, UC SAN DIEGO 1
UC San Diego struck first in game two of the doubleheader, starting with an Aggie error.
Morgan Eng became the lead runner and was advanced to second by a sac bunt from
Marissa Hassis. With
Keila Bosinger at the plate, Eng stole third and a throwing error allowed her to scramble home and score.

UC Davis tied it up in the bottom of the third at 1-1. The Aggies took the lead in the fifth to make the score 2-1.

The Tritons threatened in the fourth and seventh but were unable to convert. In game two, UC San Diego left eight runners on.

TRITON TIDBITS
- This is the first doubleheader the Tritons haven't dropped since March 16 when they won both games vs. CSU Bakersfield.
- Hailey Mulligan recorded her first triple of her collegiate career in game two in which she was 3-for-3.
- Jada Cecil dealt her 10th complete game of the season with seven strikeouts. She is second in conference with 130 total strikeouts.
- Morgan Eng is tied for seventh on the individual single season top 10 list for stolen bases (25).
- UC San Diego and UC Davis continue to be tied in the all-time vs. series at 4-4.
