LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego junior guard Bryce Pope was named Second Team All-Big West Monday as the league handed out its postseason awards as voted on by the conference's 11 head coaches. Pope was one of three Tritons to be recognized by the conference; freshman guard Roddie Anderson III and sophomore forward Francis Nwaokorie were both named Honorable Mention All-Big West.

During conference play, Pope ranked second in The Big West in scoring at 18.1 points per contest while leading the league at 38.0 minutes per game. In the Tritons' win at first place UC Irvine, Pope became the 14th player in UC San Diego history to surpass 1,000 career points scored.

Anderson left his mark on The Big West as a freshman, leading all freshmen in scoring at 15.8 points per game during league play. His 3.9 assists per league game also led Big West freshmen.

Nwaokorie was second on the team in scoring at 15.1 points per game against Big West opponents, finishing third in the league in rebounds at 7.1 in Big West games. Nwaokorie was second in The Big West in field goal percentage, finishing at 51.4%. He was also sixth in the conference with 2.0 made three-pointers per game.

The Tritons recently concluded their third season of Big West play, finishing with 10 wins overall and five against conference foes. The 2022-23 season marked the third of UC San Diego's NCAA-mandated four-year reclassification period and it was also the first year in which The Big West elected to include the Tritons in the conference standings and statistics.
