The gold and blue tied the game in the top of the fourth. Bosinger led off the inning with a single laced to center field. On a full count, Gabby Williams powered a double to left center to advance Bosinger to third. Texas Tech made a pitching change and Marissa Hassis then hit her own single to left center to plate Bosinger. Hassis then stole second to open first base. Hailey Mulligan was then walked by the Raiders to load the bases. Alexa DeMarse lined a single to left field to advance the runners and plate Kelly Renner, who entered as a pinch runner for Williams. On the first pitch of the at-bat, Kayleigh Coberly reached on a fielder's choice to advance Mulligan and plate Hassis, tying the score at 4-4.

UC San Diego tacked on another run in the fifth. Bosinger was the lead runner again after she singled through the right side to get on. Facing two outs, Williams lined a hit at the Raiders' pitcher and was able to reach second on an overthrow. Bosinger was able to score from first on the play. The Tritons' rally was cut short when Hassis struck out after battling at the plate for eight pitches.

Texas Tech pulled away in the bottom of the fifth when they scored seven runs. Shelby Thompson entered the circle for the Tritons in the end of the fifth to get the final out, leaving a runner stranded.

Retiring in order in the top of the sixth, the Tritons were unable to rally for any runs. Thompson then faced five Raiders in the bottom of the inning and got out unscathed.
