JURUPA VALLEY, Calif. - Three UC San Diego golfers are among the top-10 following Monday's opening round of The Joust at Goose Creek Golf Club. The Tritons are fifth after the lone official round.
The second round was halted due to darkness and will be completed Tuesday morning prior to the third and final round. Most teams have one or two holes remaining in round two.
Jerry Wu, playing as an individual and not factoring in the team score, is tied for seventh after shooting a one-under par 70 on the par 71, 6,785-yard course.
Elliot Bunyaviroch and
Ethan Chen are tied for 10th, both recording an even par 71.
Nathan Tseng (+2) is tied for 32nd,
Calvin Kong (+4) is tied for 43rd,
Kyle Dougherty (+6) is tied for 53rd, and
Davis Lee (+7) is tied for 62nd in the 84-player field. Dougherty is competing as an individual.
UC San Diego finished the round with a 290, seven-over par.
UC Irvine is leading the 13-team field with a nine-under 279. Rei Harashima of UCI is the individual leader after firing a six-under 65.
Nine players finished under par while the Anteaters were the lone team to come in below par.
