NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced the All-Academic Teams for the 2022 NCAA Division I Cross Country season with both UC San Diego squads named to the lists.

Overall, there were 216 different men's programs and 249 women's programs who were named All-Academic Teams for their efforts during the 2022 season.

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.

The Triton women posted a 3.504 to make the list with the Triton men posting a 3.346.

Head coach Nate Garcia commented, "We are really proud of the academic efforts of our scholar-athletes. We believe in being great at everything we do - on the course and off; we love to see our men and women performing so well in the classroom."

UC San Diego cross country wrapped their fall season at the Bronco Invite in October 2022. They will begin the track and field season on Feb. 2 at the Washington State Invite in Spokane, Wash., hosted by the Wildcats.
