SANTIAGO, Chile — UC San Diego head men's water polo coach Matt Ustaszewski is currently serving as an assistant coach with the U.S. Men's National Team as it looks for Olympic qualification at the Pan-American Games in Chile.

The Pan-Am Games run Oct. 30. through Nov. 4 at the Centro Acuático in Ñuñoa, a commune located in the Northeastern zone of Santiago.

The winner of the tournament earns a berth in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France.

The United States is the seven-time defending gold medalist at the Pan American Games.

This past July, Ustaszewski was an assistant with Team USA when it traveled to Japan for the 2023 World Aquatics (formerly FINA) Championships. The squad went 5-2 and placed seventh.
