BETHLEHEM, Pa.—On Friday morning, UC San Diego cross country traveled to compete in the 48th edition of the prestigious Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh. The men were paced in the Gold 8k by
Jordan Haney, while the women were led in the Gold 6k by
Sylvana Northrop.

The Triton men finished 35th out of 46 teams, beating regionally ranked schools Lehigh (MA-10) and Binghamton (NE-15). The women finished 37th out of 46 teams, and beat regionally ranked schools Lehigh (MA-14), Dayton (GL-15) and Cornell (NE-13).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Haney finished the Men's Gold 8k with a time of 24:20.0 to place 134th in the field of 416 finishers. Freshman
Michael Julian had the second-best time for the Triton men, placing 191st with a time of 24:38.1 and
Nicco Pompili finished just behind him with a time of 24:38.9 for 194th.

The men combined for 910 points to place 35th out of 46 teams.

In the Women's Gold 6k, Northrop paced the Tritons with a time of 21:11.3, good for 143rd out of 416 finishers. Freshman
Emma Dunmire had the second-best time for the women with a 21:32.6 finish, good for 204th.

The women combined for 1005 points to place 37th out of 46 teams.Â

- The field of competition included ranked schools from seven of the nine NCAA DI regions, with 32 regionally ranked schools on the women's side and 30 on the men's side.Â
