Tritons Defeat Utah Tech in Home Opener

LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego topped the Utah Tech Trailblazers in a Friday night matchup at home with a final result of 1-0.

The Tritons move to 3-0 while the Trailblazers drop to 0-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego's attack came early against Utah Tech as Mason Haubrich took two hard shots in the fourth minute with the defense blocking the first and the second saved by the keeper. These were the lone shots from the Tritons as they held 55% of possession during the half.

The Triton goal came in the ninth minute on a hard attack from Alessandro Allen as he took the ball past two Trailblazers' feet and sent a cross in the box that was deflected by Utah Tech into their own goal.

Utah Tech upped their attack in the second recording six shots compared to their one in the first. The blue and gold responded with five shots of their own with two on goal.

Dominic Peters held it down in goal, keeping the Tritons on top when he made a huge save in the 79th minute as Utah Tech grew more desperate for a goal.
