EUGENE, Ore.—UC San Diego baseball allowed just one hit to shutout Oregon, 3-0, in game one of the two-game series on Tuesday evening at PK Park. With the win, the Tritons improved to 22-24 and the Ducks fell to 28-20 on the season.

Austin Smith and
Noah Conlon combined for seven strikeouts and a perfect game through 5.2 innings and the Triton pitching staff allowed just three base-runners in the contest.
Crew Robinson finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and
Blake FitzGerald knocked his fourth homer of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Smith turned in 2.0 dominant innings in his first start on the mound since March 7. The freshman lefthander retired all six batters faced, including two strikeouts.Â

Conlon took over on the mound in the third and retired the first 11 Ducks he faced before allowing an infield two-out single in the sixth. Conlon tallied five strikeouts in 3.2 scoreless innings.Â

The Tritons got on the board in the top of the fourth after
Blake FitzGerald reached on an Oregon error and A. Smith brought him home with a ground-out to first to make it 1-0. UC San Diego added another run the following inning on an RBI single by
Jalen Smith.

Blake FitzGerald added an insurance run in the eighth with a solo homerun to right field to make it 3-0.

Ryan Rissas came on in relief in the bottom of the sixth and secured the final out of the inning, retiring three of the four batters he faced. Rissas gave way to
Izaak Martinez in the seventh who retired six of the seven batters he faced and closed out the game to earn his second save of the year.

- It was the third shutout of the season, after blanking San Diego State (March 29) and UC Riverside (May 1).Â
- UC San Diego now holds a 1-0 record in the all-time series with Oregon after the first meeting between the programs.
