CHULA VISTA, Calif. -Â Following two rounds of play at the Lamkin San Diego Classic, the UC San Diego men's golf team sits in 16th place with
Ryan Vaughan in a tie for 32nd.
San Diego State and the University of San Diego are co-hosting the prestigious tournament at San Diego Country Club.
The stacked, 16-team field includes two teams ranked in the national top-20, seven in the top-60, and 13 in the top-100.
All three NCAA Division I teams from San Diego are competing - San Diego State, UC San Diego, and the University of San Diego. UC San Diego and UC Davis are the only Big West Conference teams in the field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego is 18-over par with a 594 after shooting rounds of 294 and 300 on the par-72, 7,033-yard layout.
Vaughan, who is playing as an individual with his scores not counting towards the team's total, owns a 1-under 143 after carding rounds of 72 and 71.

Elliot Bunyaviroch are tied for 43rd, both just 1-over par with a 145. Catalano fired rounds of 69 and 76 while Bunyaviroch logged a 73 and a 72. Catalano's 69 was the low round of the day for the Tritons.

LSU is in first place following 36 holes. The Tigers totaled a 36-under 540 and lead second-place Notre Dame by 15 strokes. The Fighting Irish are the second-highest ranked squad in the tourney at 15th, just behind No. 8 Washington, which is in fourth place.
Louisiana State players own four of the top-five spots on the individual leader board. Tiger Nicholas Arcement is alone in first with an 11-under 133. A trio of players are tied for second, three strokes behind Arcement. In total, 39 golfers in the 95-player field are under par.Â
