Tritons Stay Local for Lamkin Grips San Diego Classic

San Diego State is hosting the tourney at San Diego Country Club

LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego men's golf team stays local to compete in the ultra-competitive Lamkin San Diego Classic, which runs Monday, March 7 and Tuesday, March 8, at San Diego Country Club.

San Diego State is hosting the 15th edition of the prestigious event. All three NCAA Division I schools located in San Diego - San Diego State, UC San Diego, and the University of San Diego - will be in the 16-team field.

The stacked field includes two teams ranked in the national top-20, seven in the top-60, and 13 in the top-100.

For rounds one and two, the Tritons will be paired with Denver, UC Davis, and Wyoming. UC San Diego and UC Davis are the only Big West Conference team competing.

The tournament, which first ran in 2008, was won by UCLA in 2021. Devon Bling of the Bruins was the individual champion.

UC San Diego last played in the San Diego Classic in 2015.
