HOW IT HAPPENED
As they've done so many times this season, the Tritons took a 1-0 lead in the match after capturing the doubles point. After the Spartans won at the first position, UC San Diego junior Rachel Wagner and freshman Adriana Tabares won 6-3 at No. 3 doubles. The doubles point came down to No. 2, and Triton freshmen Naomi Nguyen and Katelyn Vu outlasted their opponents, 7-5, to capture the point.

In singles play, San José State picked up wins at No. 4, 5, 2, and 3 to come from behind and take the match. UC San Diego sophomore Ella Pachl led 6-0, 3-4 at No. 1 when the Spartans completed their rally.
