Adriana Tabares put forth a valiant effort at third doubles before falling 4-6 to the Quakers' Sabine Rutlauka and Eileen Wang. That victory clinched the doubles point for the visitors as No. 2 doubles was tied 5-5. Triton freshmen

Naomi Nguyen were in a tight contest with Penn's Gavriella Smith and Amanda Chan when Penn clinched the point.

When singles play began, the Quakers were straight sets winners at the third, first, second and fifth positions to earn the victory in their first of three matches in California. UC San Diego junior
Julianna Sabile was battling 4-6, 4-2 at No. 6 and Wagner was still in her second set when Penn claimed the win.
