SAN DIEGO – UC San Diego redshirt junior guard
Bryce Pope was recognized by the San Diego Sports Association as a Star of the Month for November. The organization announced its recipients on Monday.
Pope averaged 19.3 points per game over seven November games. Pope drained 18 three-pointers in the month and shot 79.2% (19-24) at the free throw line while posting a 2.00 assist-to-turnover ratio. In the Tritons' win at George Washington, Pope connected on 11-of-16 field goal tries, scoring a career-high 31 points. It was the second-ever 30-plus point effort by a Triton in UC San Diego's Division I era.
Each month, the San Diego Sports Association honors as many as four professional, six amateur and six high school athletes as Stars of the Month for their outstanding athletic accomplishments. This is Pope's first career Star of the Month recognition, and the first for UC San Diego men's basketball since Tyrell Roberts was recognized in 2020.
Winners of three straight, the Tritons return to the hardwood Monday night when they visit crosstown rival San Diego. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. from USD's Jenny Craig Pavilion.
