LA JOLLA, California — The 10th-ranked UC San Diego men's volleyball team posted a .300 attack percentage en route to a straight-set victory against No. 12 Stanford Saturday in non-conference action at RIMAC Arena.
Scores were 25-20, 25-22, and 25-23 in favor of the Tritons, who improved to 2-0 on the young season. Stanford fell to 3-2 overall.
It was UC San Diego's first win against Stanford since Feb. 11, 2011. The Cardinal had won 17 straight matches against the Tritons coming into tonight's contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego had 39 kills and just 12 errors in 90 attack attempts to account for its solid percentage. On the other side of the net, Stanford hit .259 with 32 kills and 11 errors in 81 swings.
The Tritons also held advantages in service aces (8-5), and blocks (6-5), while the Cardinal finished with a slight lead in digs (36-34).
For the second-straight night, outside hitter
Kyle McCauley led the Tritons offensively, putting down 14 kills. The senior totaled 17 kills in Friday's victory against Harvard.Â
Ryan Ka, also an outside hitter, followed with nine kills on a .438 (9-2-16) hitting percentage. Opposite hitter
Charlie Siragusa had six kills, a career-high eight digs, and three blocks. Middle blocker
Logan Clark hit .500 with five kills and no errors in 10 attacks and setter
Blake Crisp ended his night with 34 assists.
For Stanford, Will Rottman led all players with 18 kills on a .455 (18-3-33) attack. Luke Turner also posted a match high with 10 digs.Â

Nick Rigo made his season debut, finishing with a kill in his only attack attempt.
• Three Tritons had multiple service aces.
• Tonight was the first time the Tritons hit at least .300 since April 14, 2021, when they swung at .341 (64-20-129) vs. UC Santa Barbara.
• The last win over Stanford in 2011 was also a sweep. The Cardinal were ranked fourth nationally at the time.
