Tritons Compete at Ram Masters Invitational in Colorado Monday and Tuesday

The University of California San Diego men's golf team opens its fall season Monday at Colorado State University's Ram Masters Invitational. The Tritons are one of 16 teams in the field.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the Fort Collins Country Club. Rounds one and two take place Monday and the event concludes Tuesday with round three.

It will be the first fall season for UC San Diego as an NCAA Division I team and a member of the Big West Conference. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tritons did not start competing until the spring of 2021.

Host Colorado State has won the past six Ram Masters Invitational tournaments.

All action from Fort Collins can be followed with live scoring.

WHAT HEAD COACH FRED HANOVER HAS TO SAY
We had the most competitive qualifying I've ever experienced as a coach. Anyone that shot worse than 3-under par did not make the team for this tournament.

We have a much-improved team and that will show up in tournament play this season. There's a great mix of experienced college players like Ryan (Vaughan), Jared (Gross), and Elliot (Bunyaviroch), along with less-experienced players like Jerry (Wu) and our super freshman Francis (Catalano).
