LA JOLLA, Calif. – Down by a bucket, UC San Diego senior
Gabe Hadley knocked down a game-winning three with 8.3 seconds left in overtime to lift the Tritons to an 83-82 victory over visiting UC Riverside Saturday evening at RIMAC Arena.

The Tritons are now 5-8 overall (2-6 vs. Big West schedule) while UC Riverside falls to 10-6.

The game got started off on the right foot for UC San Diego. Senior
Hugh Baxter won the jump ball and hit a three-pointer on the game's first possession to put the home team in front. The game was tied at 10 when the Tritons used an 8-0 run to go up 18-10 with 10:30 left in the first period.

The Highlanders responded with a 12-2 spurt to go up 26-23 with 3:59 left in the half. UCR led 35-30 at the half.

The Tritons connected on 6-of-13 three-point tries in the first, including two apiece from Baxter, junior
Toni Rocak, and grad transfer
Jake Killingsworth.

In the second half, UC Riverside built a 54-42 advantage with 11:33 left. The Tritons battled back and began to whittle the deficit.

Trailing by three with time winding down, Hadley knocked down a three under pressure to tie the score at 71 and send the game into overtime.

In OT, the Highlanders took an 82-80 lead with 12 seconds remaining, setting the stage for Hadley's heroics.

Hadley finished with 25 to lead all scorers, connecting on 6-of-11 from beyond the arc. Baxter and Rocak added 16 points each, and Killingsworth scored 11.

- Saturday was UC San Diego's first overtime game of the season and the Highlanders' second.
- Hadley finished with a career-high five assists.
- Rocak fouled out with 6:11 to play in the second half. Saturday was only the second time this season a Triton has fouled out of a game.
