UC San Diego Swept by Long Beach State

LA JOLLA, California — Up against a strong attack and block, the UC San Diego women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to Big West Conference opponent Long Beach State Friday night inside RIMAC Arena.

Scores were 25-22, 25-19, and 25-23.

With just three more matches remaining in their inaugural NCAA Division I season, the Tritons fell to 9-19 overall and 6-11 in the conference. The Beach won its third-consecutive match to improve to 13-15 and 7-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego hit .155 with 39 kills and 21 errors in 116 attack attempts. Long Beach countered at .357 with 44 kills and nine miscues in 98 swings.

LBSU finished with a season-high 13 blocks at the net.

The Tritons had a strong night from the service line, putting down seven aces. Susanna Limb had four aces to her name, three of those coming consecutively in the first set.

UC San Diego's outside hitters, Sabire Karacaova and Ava McInnes, each had 10 kills. Karacaova added four digs and three blocks. Middle Grace Cannon connected for nine kills while also hitting .313 and getting three blocks up front.

Triton setter Isabela Dobra logged her 16th double-double of the season with 37 assists and team-high 11 digs.

The Beach got 13 kills from both Erykah Lovett and Kashauna Williams. Williams hit a stellar .571 and Lovett attacked at .393. Miranda Canez and Tia Chavera had six blocks apiece. Nicole Hoff led all players with 16 digs.
