LOS ANGELES—The UC San Diego swimming team completed the first day of the USD Invitational, finishing with 166 points for the women and 147 points for the men.

USC's men's and women's teams sit in first place with 252.5 and 284 points respectively. For the men, TCU sits in second (185) and UNLV in third (164.5). The UNLV women's team is in second (188) and TCU sits in fourth place (116).

The Tritons had three podium finishes in the 10-event schedule, including third-place in the men's 400-yard medley relay. The team of
Tyler James,
Luke Pusateri,
Spencer Daily and
Andrija Petkovic finished with a time of 3:13.63, just .17 seconds shy of second place and less than a second off the lead.

Juli Arzave and
Nathan Lee earned podium spots in their individual events. Arzave placed third in the 500-yard free with a time of 4:50.77, while Lee finished third in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:48.17.

UP NEXT
The Tritons remain in Los Angeles for day two of the USC Invitational, with competitions beginning at 9 a.m. PT. Also on Saturday, the diving team is set to compete in the Lancer Invite (10 a.m. PT) hosted by California Baptist.
