Genevieve Cassidy - Women's Rowing
Genevieve Cassidy of the women's rowing team has earned a 3.85 GPA as a cognitive science major in Roosevelt College. Last year, Cassidy helped the Novice 8 to a first-place finish at the Berg Cup, as well as runner-up finishes at the WIRA Championships and Sac State Invite. The Danville native was named last year's Novice MVP for her efforts. Cassidy aspires to enter the UX/UI design field after graduating from UC San Diego.

Hayden Hui - Men's Golf
Hayden Hui, a senior on the golf team, holds a 3.59 GPA as a structural engineering major out of Warren College. An All-West Region and All-CCAA First Team selection in 2020, Hui was UC San Diego's top finisher in four of six tournaments. He finished his campaign with a 73.6 stroke average, shooting eight rounds of par or better, including a 68 in the third round of the NCAA Division 1 Bill Cullum Invitational. Hui's best finish of the season was a tie for fourth of 87 players at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate in Hawai'i. Along with classmate Jacob Johnson, he tied for 15th at the Fujikura Invitational to help lead the Tritons to their first tournament win since 2016.

Chloe Pena - Women's Water Polo
Sophomore Chloe Pena carries a 3.71 GPA and is majoring in psychology with a specialization in human health. In the shortened season, Pena recorded five goals, seven assists and 11 steals. The Ventura native plans to attend medical school upon graduation.

Collin Shannon - Men's Volleyball
Junior Collin Shannon holds a 3.86 GPA as a cognitive science major. The opposite played in 18 matches this season, starting 16 of those, to help UC San Diego earn a program best 14 wins and a No. 6 national ranking. He averaged 2.0 points, 1.3 kills, 0.8 blocks, and 0.3 service aces per set and was third on the team in aces and blocks, fourth in points and kills, and fifth in digs. Shannon totaled 10 or more points four times, had multiple blocks in 15 matches, and hit over .300 in seven contests.Â

Anu Bhadada - Women's TennisÂ
Sophomore Anu Bhadada carries a 3.71 cumulative grade point average as a bioengineering major at Warren College. A San Diego native, Bhadada participated in all nine matches this spring at doubles and competed eight times in singles. Bhadada won two of her last three singles matches as well as her last two doubles contests against Division II competition. Upon graduation, she plans to work in the biotech industry.

Sahm Irvine - Men's Tennis
Sahm Irvine of the men's tennis team has achieved a 3.87 GPA as an aerospace engineering major in Warren College. Irvine started the year ranked No. 9 in singles in the initial ITA/Oracle West Region rankings. The sophomore spent the season on the first and second singles courts for the nationally-ranked Tritons. Among the highlights for Irvine was a victory over his Division I Villanova opponent, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 on March 5. Next, Irvine plans to attend graduate school.

Danielle Stedman - Softball
Danielle Stedman, a senior outfielder on the softball team, carries a cumulative GPA of 3.49 as an International Business major and Psychology minor at Sixth College. Stedman developed into a regular starter over the course of her four-year career. This season, she compiled a .294 batting average with 20 hits from the left side. A product of Campbell, Stedman led the team in stolen bases going 15-for-18 on the year, which ranked fourth in the CCAA. In addition, she entered the all-time UC San Diego record books at number 10 in career steals with 46. Stedman finished her degree and graduated this past winter. She intends on traveling the world and working abroad.

Anthony Lucchetti - Baseball
Lucchetti started all 21 games this season, primarily at Left Field. He led the team in hits (28) and was second in RBIs (18). The Junior had a batting average of .400, ob base percentage of .506 and slugging percentage of .563. A transfer from Delta College, Lucchetti has a GPA of 3.48 and is majoring in Political Science. After college, he is interested in a career in Political Science.

Erikka Linn - Women's Track and Field
Erikka Linn, a senior jumper on the women's track and field team, holds a cumulative GPA of 3.8 as a Bioinformatics major at Sixth College. She is also acquiring a minor in Computer Science. The Fremont native reached a pro-qualifying mark in the triple jump on two separate occasions this year. At the Rossi Relays, she leaped to an overall winning distance of 39'8.75", which tied her for fourth all-time in the UC San Diego record books. That same weekend, she took first place in the long jump (18'1"), in which both displays guided her to her first CCAA Field Athlete of the Week honor of her experienced career. Following graduation, Linn plans to attend graduate school for either her MD/PhD or PhD and hopes to merge bioinformatics into the medical field.

Zachary Aanstoots - Men's Track and Field
Zach Aanstoots, a sophomore high jumper on the men's track and field team, holds a cumulative GPA of 3.5 as a Business Psychology major and Law and Society minor at Warren College. This year Aanstoots finished first (6'6") among collegiate participants and second overall at the Rossi Relays and placed second (6'2") at the Pomona-Pitzer All-Comers Meet. At the San Diego Collegiate Challenge, on home turf, Aanstoots cleared 6'5" to finish second among Tritons. The Warren, N.J. product intends on becoming a lawyer and having his how own business after graduation.

Sierra Byrne -Â Women's Rowing
Sierra Byrne of the women's rowing team has achieved a 3.73 GPA as an Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences major in Sixth College. Last year, Byrne helped the Novice 8 capture first place at the Berg Cup. The Middletown, N.J. native also recorded a pair of runner-up finishes with the Novice 8 at the Sacramento State Invitational and WIRA Championships in 2019. Byrne aspires to attend graduate school in order to do research in the ocean and atmospheric sciences field.

Tazio Capozzola -Â Men's Rowing
Tazio Capozzola of the men's rowing team holds an impressive 3.79 GPA as a Biochemistry and Cell Biology major in Warren College. Capozzola helped the Varsity 8 to a pair of first-place showings as the Tritons swept last year's WIRA Championships and Western Sprints. The junior has also competed with the Varsity 8 crew at two IRA National Championships and was named an IRA All-Academic in 2019. Capozzola plans to attend medical school after graduating from UC San Diego.

Amelia Harrison - Fencing
Harrison, a senior epeeist on the fencing team, holds a 3.49 GPA as a cognitive science major out of UC San Diego's Roosevelt College. Harrison is one of five Tritons that qualified for the NCAA National Collegiate Fencing Championships, which were originally scheduled to be held this past week in Detroit. To punch her ticket to nationals, she placed second in her weapon at the West Regionals, held March 7 at Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colo. The two-time captain picked up All-Western Fencing Conference accolades this year.

Benjamin Hadler - Fencing
Hadler, a sophomore foilist on the fencing team, currently has a 3.71 GPA as a biology major from UC San Diego's Muir College. He is one of five Tritons that qualified for the NCAA National Collegiate Fencing Championships, which were originally scheduled to be held this past week in Detroit. To qualify, Hadler placed second at the West Regionals on March 7 at Air Force in Colorado Springs, Colo., which also gave him All-Western Fencing Conference honors. He has earned a spot at nationals in both of his collegiate seasons, finishing 12th in 2019.

Tina Reuter - Swimming and Diving
Tina Reuter finished runner-up at the NCAA Championship in the 200-yard IM. She dropped 1.42 seconds from her prelim time and her time of 2:00.28 was a new school record. Reuter also qualified for the 400-yard IM finals race with a time of 4:19.30, good for fourth fastest in the prelims.

Spencer Daily - Swimming and Diving
Spencer Daily became the first national champion for the UC San Diego Swim and Dive team since 2014 when he won the 50-yard freestyle. His time of 19.58 was a new school record and pool record for the Spire Institute. He had also qualified for finals in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard free relay team.

Tyla Turner -Â Women's Basketball
Tyla Turner dominated as the No. 25 Tritons recorded three victories to secure their second-straight CCAA Tournament title. The CCAA Tournament MVP opened the tourney with a season-high and game-high 26 points, as well as seven rebounds and four assists, as she faced her former team, Humboldt State. Turner followed up with a triple-double against Stanislaus State, recording 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. In the championship game, Turner finished the night with a double-double, scoring 13 points and collecting a game-best 13 rebounds to tie her career high.

Tyrell Roberts -Â Men's Basketball
Sophomore guard Tyrell Roberts earned CCAA Tournament MVP honors after leading the Tritons to their fourth straight conference tournament title. Roberts averaged 24.3 points per game on 54% (26-48) shooting during the tournament, dropping a tournament record 45 points in a semifinal win over Cal State East Bay. That outburst was one point shy of a school record for points in a game, and it propelled Roberts over the 1,000 points scored mark in his career. He is the fourth member of this year's team to score 1,000 career points. Roberts was 16-30 shooting from beyond the arc during the tournament (53%).

Brittney Miles -Â Swim and Dive
Miles was the leadoff for the 200-yard freestyle relay team that won the Tritons first ever MPSF title with a school record time of 1:30.84. Her time in the 50-free was also a school record. She also placed third individually in the 50-free and swam leadoff in the 400-yard free relay that placed second with a school record time of 3:20.75.

Connor Walbrecht - Men's Volleyball
Produced match-highs with 12 digs and 45 assists while adding 2 blocks and an ace in sweep of No. 6 UC Irvine. Recorded his 6th double-double of the season. Walbrecht paced Tritons to a .357 hitting percentage, the eighth time this season they have hit over .300. He helped Tritons earn first-ever Big West sweep, first-ever Big West regular season series sweep, and first-ever Big West win streak.

Sherriah Harrington -Â Softball
Junior Sherriah Harrington led the No. 6 Tritons offensively as UC San Diego split with Cal State Dominguez Hills 2-2 in a four-game CCAA series. At the plate, Harrington recorded a team-high batting average of .667 through the four games. She went 6-for-9, with one home run and one double. She filled the stat sheet, tallying five RBIs, two runs, two stolen bases, two sac flies, and four walks. Harrington also posted a .667 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of 1.111. The Chula Vista product played a perfect first base, committing zero errors with 45 putouts and one assist.Â

Phillip Lan -Â Men's Tennis
Phillip Lan of the men's tennis team went undefeated in both singles and doubles as the Tritons went 2-1 on the week, including victories over nationally-ranked No. 9 Hawaii Pacific and No. 10 Hawaii Hilo to remain perfect against top-10 opponents this season. Lan teamed up with Sreeganesh Manoharan at first doubles, winning 6-4 over the Eagles, 7-5 over the Vulcans, and 6-2 over the Sharks. In singles, Lan started the week on the fifth court, moving up to fourth, and finishing the week at third singles. The freshman won in straight sets against his opponents every time.

Grace Pevehouse - Women's Water Polo
Pevehouse scored 12 goals this past weekend as the Tritons placed 4th in the Triton Invite. UC San Diego beat No 24 Marist 14-5 and No 9 UCSB 11-7 before falling to No. 1 USC 14-11 and No 8 ASU 13-8. Pevehouse recorded a hat trick in each game. She also had three assists on the weekend.

Marc Isaia - Men's Tennis
Marc Isaia led the UC San Diego men's tennis team to a perfect 3-0 start to the season. On Friday, it all came down to third singles as UC San Diego was tied with No. 7 Azusa Pacific. After capturing the first set, 6-4, Isaia was narrowly edged by No. 39 Ryan Nuno in set two, 5-7. With the match on the line, the senior emerged victorious, 7-6, to seal the upset. Against Point Loma, Isaia was the first one off the court as he cruised to a 6-3, 6-1 win over his opponent. In the Tritons' win over Biola, Isaia was edged by his opponent in singles, but was victorious 7-6 in a competitive doubles match.

Keila Bosinger -Â Softball
UC San Diego sophomore outfielder Keila Bosinger batted .471 en route the Tritons' 5-0 undefeated record this weekend at the Desert Stinger Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev. Over the course of five games and 17 at-bats, Bosinger recorded 11 RBIs on eight hits, three of which were home runs and one double. Among the highlights for the Chula Vista native was a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth to secure a victory over Oklahoma Baptist in game three. Overall, Bosinger tallied 18 total bases and produced a slugging percentage of 1.059, as well as an on-base percentage of .471. In addition, Bosinger garnered three runs, a stolen base and was perfect in the field to help guide the Tritons to a second place finish out of 21 teams in the overall standings.

Tyrell Roberts -Â Men's Basketball
UC San Diego sophomore guard Tyrell Roberts averaged 24.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, three steals, and two assists per game as the Tritons downed Humboldt State and Stanislaus State in CCAA action last week. Roberts shot 44% (16-36) overall, 64% 3FG (9-14), and was a perfect 8-8 from the free throw line. He scored 17 points in the win over Humboldt State and followed that up with a 32-point effort in Saturday's come-from-behind victory over Stanislaus State. Against the Warriors, Roberts scored 22 points after halftime and was 6-of-9 from long distance with a career-high six steals.
Roberts leads the CCAA in scoring at 18.2 points per game on the season. In conference play, he leads the conference in scoring (18.4 ppg), free throw percentage (94.1%), and 3FG/game (3.3).
At 21-1 overall and 15-1 in the CCAA, the Tritons have won a program record 13 consecutive games.

Julia Macabuhay - Women's Basketball
Julia Macabuhay led the Tritons (RV) to a pair of critical road wins as they secured first place in the conference and continued their winning streak. Macabuhay put up a game-high 22 points in the Tritons' 66-47 victory over the Gators, and recorded 23 points, another game best, in UC San Diego's 54-47 win over the Seawolves. The sophomore shot 52% (17-33) across the week. Macabuhay also collected seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Gabe Hadley - Men's Basketball
UC San Diego junior guard Gabe Hadley averaged 19.5 points, five made 3FG per game, two assists and 1.5 steals per game as the fifth-ranked Tritons picked up a pair of CCAA road wins last week. In Thursday's win at San Francisco State, Hadley was 5-11 from beyond the arc while scoring 17 points off the bench. On Saturday, he was 5-10 from long range while matching his career-high with 22 points and a personal best three steals. For the week, Hadley shot 13-26 (50%) overall and 10-21 (47.6%) from three-point range. He averaged 21 minutes per game off the bench last week.

Ciara Franke -Â Women's Water Polo
Franke led the Triton's to a 3-1 record at the UCSB Invite which included an upset win in triple OT over No. 4 Cal. The Tritons also beat Ottata University Arizona, Iona and nearly upset No. 2 UCLA. This is the first victory in program history over the Bears. Against the Bears, Franke matched a career high with five goals including the golden goal to win the game. In total, Franke had eight goals over the weekend. The last time the Tritons a team ranked in the top five was in 2014 at the UCSB Winter Tournament when they beat No. 5 ASU 12-11.

Wyatt Harrison -Â Men's Volleyball
Led Tritons in kills and hit .368 over a three match week in which the team went 2-1, including a sweep of No. 3 UCLA. Had match highs w/13 kills, 14 points, and a .391 hitting percentage vs. Vassar. Hit 11 kills on .357 hitting vs. UCLA. Had 10 kills on .360 hitting at Grand Canyon. Also added 7 digs and 2 blocks at GCU. Harrison was the Off the Block National Offensive Player of the Night Friday and it was the first win against UCLA since 2012.

Julia Macabuhay - Women's Basketball
Julia Macabuhay led the UC San Diego women's basketball team (RV) to a 2-0 week, defeating Stanislaus State and Humboldt State. In the Tritons' 88-82 win over the Jacks, Macabuhay scored a game-high 24 points to help UC San Diego to its highest point total in a single game this season. The sophomore ultimately averaged 19.5 points in 33.8 minutes across the two games, shooting 62% (13-21). Macabuhay also picked up seven assists during the week..

Kyle McCauley - Men's Volleyball
First year Triton Kyle McCauley averaged 4.6 kills and 5.3 points while hitting .413 over two matches at RIMAC Arena. In his debut, the outside hitter had match highs with 20 kills and 24 points, helping the Tritons to a thrilling five set win over No. 11 Loyola. He also added six digs, two aces, and two blocks and hit .361 vs. the Ramblers. Two nights later against No. 6 Lewis, McCauley posted match highs with 17 kills and 18 points. He also had a team best six digs plus two blocks and hit .481 against the Flyers.

Jordan Phillips - Women's Swimming and Diving
Phillips was part of the 200-yard Medley Relay team that beat UCLA with a pool record time of 1:42.93. She also finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.82. Against CSU Bakersfield and LMU, Phillips and the 200-yard Medley Relay earned another win and Phillips picked up the gold in the 100-backstroke.

Scott Everman -Â Men's Basketball
Senior Scott Everman averaged 20.5 points per game last week as the Tritons beat two CCAA foes. In Thursday's win over Cal State Monterey Bay, Everman scored a season-high 20 points. He followed that up with a 21-point effort in Saturday's victory over Cal State East Bay. For the week, Everman averaged 20.5 points and 2.5 rebounds, while shooting 68% (17-25).

Sydney Sharp - Women's Basketball
Sydney Sharp helped the No. 22 Tritons to a 2-1 week, collecting a pair of double-doubles. Sharp recorded a .387 FG percentage (12-31), shot .409 from beyond the arc (9-22), and was perfect at the free throw line (3-3) across the three contests. Starting all three games, the North Tustin native contributed 36 points and 24 rebounds to the Tritons' efforts. Sharp's top performance came in UC San Diego's win over the Toros, as she contributed 16 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.

Marek Sullivan - Men's Basketball
Marek Sullivan shot 68% and averaged 13.3 points, six rebounds, and 3.7 steals per game as the 8th-ranked Tritons went 3-0 in CCAA action last week – including road wins at Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal Poly Pomona, and a home victory over Sonoma State. He established a new career high with 17 points, adding seven rebounds and four steals in UC San Diego's comeback win at Cal Poly Pomona. Sullivan started all three games for the week, and averaged 29 minutes per in the Tritons' wins.

Julissa Arzave - Swimming and Diving
At the US Open, Arzave broke school long course records in the 800 meter freestyle (8:59.89) and 1500 meter freestyle (17:10.19). She broke the prevoius 1500 records by 37 seconds.

Marek Sullivan - Men's BasketballÂ
Making his first career start, men's basketball junior forward Marek Sullivan posted a double-double with 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in UC San Diego's game against Chico State on December 5. Sullivan was 5-for-6 shooting, and dished out a career-high five assists with only one turnover in 35 minutes of action in the Tritons' lone game of the week.

Julia Macabuhay - Women's Basketball
Julia Macabuhay put up 14 points in the No. 14 Tritons' 60-54 win over No. 11 Minnesota State Moorhead at the Malika Sports Tours Oahu Thanksgiving Classic in Hawaii on Friday. The next day, the sophomore scored a team-best 16 points as the Tritons faced Hawaii Pacific (RV). Across the two contests, Macabuhay also contributed eight assists and seven rebounds. The Los Angeles native now ranks second in the conference with an average of 19.3 points per game.

Ty Roberts - Men's Basketball
UC San Diego sophomore guard Tyrell Roberts averaged 19 points and 3.5 assists as the Tritons won the NDNU Thanksgiving Classic in Belmont. In Friday's win over Holy Names, Roberts scored a career-high 28 points while knocking down a personal-best 11 field goals. Over two games for the week, he shot 15-24 (.625), 5-12 from three, and 3-3 from the free throw line. Roberts doled out seven assists while committing only two turnovers. As a team, the fourth-ranked Tritons are off to their best-ever Division II start at 8-0.

Brittney Miles - Swimming & DivingÂ
Brittney Miles had a hand in four school records at the A3 invite this weekend. Individually, she broke the 50-yard freestyle (22.85) and 100-yard freestyle (50.10) and finished second and first in the finals respectively. She was part of the first place 400-yard freestyle relay team (3:20.95) and first place 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:31.61) with both teams setting new school records.

Shawn Kim - Fencing
Â
Freshman Shawn Kim placed first in the Division I Saber event at the 24th BladeRunner Fencing Tournament, which was hosted by UC San Diego inside RIMAC Arena this past weekend. Kim topped the 64-competitor field by posting a perfect 6-0 record in pool action and moving on to win six consecutive direct elimination bouts to take the title. It is the second straight year that Kim has won the event as he did so in 2018 as a club fencer. Â

Brett Jones scored a pair of goals in UC San Diego's CCAA Tournament victory over San Francisco State on Tuesday night. For his performance, he earned a spot on the all-tournament team. Jones leads the team and ranks fourth in the CCAA in goals (12) and points (26)

Angelica Ramos - Women's Soccer
Angelica Ramos led the No. 14 women's soccer team to two wins in the semifinals and finals of the CCAA Tournament over the weekend, as the Tritons captured their fifth-straight CCAA Tournament title. The goalkeeper did not allow a goal in a pair of 1-0 double overtime victories over No. 22 Cal Poly Pomona and No. 10 Sonoma State. Across the two games, Ramos made nine saves and played 209 minutes. For her efforts, Ramos was named the CCAA Tournament Defensive MVP.

Aren Johnson – Men's Cross Country
Aren Johnson led the No. 19 men's cross country team to a seventh-place finish at the NCAA West Regional in Monmouth, Ore. Individually, he crossed the line in third place of the men's 10K with a time of 29-minutes, 57.4-seconds. His efforts earned him All-West Region recognition for the second time in his career, as well as an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship that will take place two weeks from now. Johnson's time was just 3.4 seconds off from Cal State San Marcos' individual winner. It was also an all-time best UC San Diego finish on the men's side in the institution's Division II era.

Trinity Castaneda - Women's VolleyballÂ
Trinity Castaneda had a match high 16 kills, one short of her career best, in sweep of No. 24 Cal State LA that clinched Tritons a CCAA Tournament berth. She hit .625 against the Golden Eagles. The next night, she totaled 14 kills, 3 blocks, 2 digs while hitting .433 in sweep of Cal State Dominguez Hills. For the week, she led team in kills (30), points (32), and hitting percentage (.519).

Hayden Hui - Men's Golf
Hayden Hui finished fourth in an 87 player field, helping the Tritons tie for second place at the 16 team Dennis Rose Intercollegiate in Hawai'i. Hui carded a 214, 2 under par, with rounds of 74, 71, and 69 on the par 72, 7,074 yard Waikoloa Kings' Course layout. Over the three days Hui steadily elevated his position on the leaderboard, moving from a tie for 13th to a tie for fifth before settling in fourth. Hui was UC San Diego's top finisher in two of the team's three tournaments this fall.

Katja Pavicevic - Women's Swimming and Diving
Katja Pavicevic - On the first day of the quad meet, Pavicevic won the 400-yard Medley Relay and 200-yard breaststroke. On day two, Pavicevic won the 200-yard medley relay, 100-yard Breaststroke, 200-yard breaststroke and 400-IM. Her performance on day two helped the Tritons defeat UC Davis, one of the top teams in the conference.

Kyland Parenti - Men's Swimming and Diving
Kyland Parenti - Won the 1-meter with a score of 278.17 and placed second in 3-meter with a score of 302.10 when the Tritons went up against CMS. Presenti's score in the 3-meter punched his ticket to NCAA's.Â

Samantha Rocke - Women's Cross Country
Samantha Rocke - led No. 17 UC San Diego to a fourth-place finish at the CCAA Championships in Arcata, Calif. Individually, she crossed the line in 22-minutes, 41.7-seconds, sufficient for 11th place and All-CCAA honors (top-15 finishers). The last time a Triton freshman from the women's side was named All-Conference was in 2015. Five of the women's teams were well-ranked nationally heading into the meet in which Rocke held her own. She trailed five No. 5 Chico State participants who contributed to the Wildcat's 12thstraight CCAA team title.Â

Ziad Khayat - Men's Fencing
Ziad Khayat placed 14th out of 256 fencers in Division I Epee at the ultra-competitive North American Cup in Kansas City, Mo. Competing against top NCAA and club fencers, as well as Olympic hopefuls, Khayat entered the event seeded 134th. He went 9-3 in pool action. In the direct elimination Round of 128, Khayat defeated World Cup medalist Ryan Lee. He then bested Timmy Frank of Brown University in the Round of 64 and Hector Maisonet-Guzman of IFAO Dallas in the Round of 32. In the Round of 16, Khayat faced U.S. National Team member Yeisser Ramirez and fell by a score of 15-6. Ramirez went on to win the gold medal in the event. Â

Jessica Rieble - Women's VolleyballÂ
Jessica Rieble led the women's volleyball team to 2-0 week at home with team highs in kills (29), kills/set (4.1), hitting percentage (.591), blocks (9), blocks/set (1.3), points (34), and points/set (4.9). The senior middle blocker set new career-highs with 19 kills and 23 points against Stanislaus State. She hit .692, the best by any Triton this season, and added six blocks versus the Warriors. The night prior, Rieble had 10 kills and three blocks with a .444 hitting percentage against Chico State. She entered the weekend ranked fifth nationally in hitting percentage (.407) and is now hitting .433, third in the country.

Sam Blake - Men's Cross Country
Sam Blake guided the No. 14 Tritons to a championship on home turf at the 2019 Triton Classic. As a pack, UC San Diego accumulated 27 points total in the men's 8K. Blake's individual time of 25-minutes, 41.7-seconds broke a UC San Diego participant record, placing him 2nd overall. On top of becoming the fastest Triton to complete the challenging course, it was also a personal record for the Campbell native.Â

Mika Celeste - Women's Soccer
Mika Celeste of the No. 2 University of California San Diego women's soccer team picked up six points on the weekend as the Tritons went 2-0 to remain undefeated. Celeste was crucial in the Tritons' victory against Humboldt State, netting the game-winner as the Tritons eventually went on to win 5-2. Celeste brought her best again in the Tritons' win over San Francisco State, as she scored two goals in the team's 3-0 shutout.

Sreeganesh Manoharan
Sreeganesh Manoharan of the men's tennis team excelled at the 2019 ITA Regional Championships over the weekend. In doubles, third-seeded Manoharan and his partner Zach Ermert won three consecutive matches to advance all the way to the finals before falling to their Azusa opponents. In singles, the senior won his first match, 6-2, 6-0, and his second 6-4, 6-4. He then grabbed an early lead over his fourth-seeded Sonoma State opponent who bowed out with an injury. Manoharan ultimately finished in the quarterfinals before narrowly falling to his teammate, Marc Isaia.

Ellie Whitney - Women's Swimming and Diving
Ellie Whitney set a school record in 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:50.71 at the USC Invite. She had B cut times for the 1650-yard free, 1000-yard free (based on splits), 500-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle. The 500-yard, 1000-yard and 1650-yard freestyle were all swam faster than the NCAA invite time from last season.

Jack Turner had 59 saves, 4 assists and 3 steals last week as the Tritons went 3-2. UC San Diego picked up wins against No. 9 UC Davis, No. 10 UC Irvine and No. 20 San Jose State. His 23 saves in double sudden death against UC Davis was a new career high.

Delaney Whittet - Women's Soccer
Delaney Whittet was key for the No. 1 Tritons as the team remained unbeaten during their first conference road trip of the season. At Cal State East Bay, the Triton captain and her defensive counterparts held the Pioneers to just one shot across 110 minutes of play. Later in the weekend in the Tritons' 2-0 win at Cal State Monterey Bay, Whittet helped hold the Otters to only two shots throughout 90 minutes of competition.

Nick Cirrito - Men's Soccer
Nick Cirrito's week was highlighted by his game-winning goal in the 88th minute on Saturday night, as the Tritons ultimately defeated Hawai'i-Hilo, 2-1, in front of a packed house. Across the week, as the Tritons defeated the Vulcans but narrowly fell to Point Loma in double overtime, Cirrito recorded eight shots, three of which were on-goal. With Cirrito's goal against the Vulcans, he moves into a tie for the team lead with three on the season.

Gina Cortesi - Women's Volleyball
Gina Cortesi led the Tritons to a 2-0 CCAA start on the road. She averaged 4.0 points and 3.7 kills per set and had a hit percentage of .409. All of those numbers were team highs. She also averaged 2.2 digs, second best on the team. Had a match high 13 kills while hitting .435 at SF State and match high 9 kills at East Bay. Cortesi also added 8 digs and 2 aces vs. Pioneers.

Sam Blake- Men's Cross Country
Sam Blake led the pack for the Triton men and overall at the Cougar Challenge hosted by San Marcos. Out of the 53 total participants, Blake placed first in a race that came down to the wire. He crossed the finish line nine-tenths of second faster than Queens (N.C.)'s runner-up (24:11.9). A time of 24-minutes, 11.0-seconds in the 8K marked Blake's best-time yet, hence granting him individual champion. His performance assisted the UC San Diego men in locking up a third-place team finish ahead of three other competitive NCAA West Region opponents.Â

Jessica Rieble led UC San Diego to a tourney-best 4-0 record at the six-team West Region Showcase in La Jolla. She hit .440 while averaging 3.7 points, 2.7 kills, 1.3 blocks, and 1.1 digs. Her hitting percentage and blocking average ranked second among all tourney players. Rieble's 16 points vs. Concordia Irvine and 10.5 points vs. Saint Martin's were match highs. Her 9 blocks vs. Concordia Irvine were 1 short of her career high. She was named to all-tournament team.

Brett Jones - Men's Soccer
Brett Jones led the Tritons to a pair of victories to start the season, first against Concordia University Irvine and later against nationally-ranked No. 25 Fresno Pacific. Jones contributed a goal in each of the contests. The junior forward opened the scoring against the Sunbirds after a scoreless first half on Thursday, and gave the Tritons a 2-0 lead over the Eagles on Saturday. Jones was relentless, taking 11 shots across the two matches, five of which were on-goal.

Angelica Ramos - Women's Soccer
Goalkeeper Angelica Ramos was perfect in the net as the No. 3 Tritons recorded back-to-back shutout victories to open the season. Facing Concordia University Irvine on Thursday and Biola University on Saturday, Ramos stopped every shot she faced, picking up seven saves. The San Clemente native played all 180 minutes of the two contests, collecting her 23rd and 24th clean sheets of her Triton career.
