Stand Beside Her Tour Stops
The 2020 USA Softball Women's National Team (WNT) has taken part in a series of competitions and training opportunites to get ready for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The "Stand Besider Her" Tour is an attempt to unite America and push communities to stand beside HER: WNT members, the United States and future generations of female athletes. SERIES HISTORY
The Tritons are 20-2 (.910) all time against the Cougars. Last season, UC San Diego won the regular season series 3-1. After dropping the first game, the blue and gold were victorious the rest of the way with three consecutive triumphs. During the series,
Robyn Wampler threw her first collegiate no-hitter and Head Coach
Patti Gerckens picked up her 750
th career win.
LAST TIME OUT
The Tritons split a CCAA four-game series with Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 28-29. Games one and four concluded in five-inning, run-rule decisions with the Tritons and Otters coming out on top once apiece.
Offensively, UC San Diego had three individuals bat over .300 including junior
Sherriah Harrington (.400/4-10) and seniors
Danica Kazakoff (.375/3-8) and
Mikaila Reyes (.333/4-12). Kazakoff was responsible for a quarter of her team's runs scored (4). Reyes was especially effective in game one, as she went 2-for-3 with three of the team's six RBIs. The San Diego natives of Harrington and Reyes each contributed two doubles on the weekend and a total of 12 bases combined.
In the circle, junior
Robyn Wampler was untouchable once again. In two appearances and 11 innings pitched, Wampler generated an ERA of 1.27, surrendering two earned runs on seven hits. She limited the Otters to a .175 batting average at the plate.
As a team, UC San Diego was 8-for-9 in stolen bases but left a total of 36 stranded.
LATEST NFCA TOP 25 COACHES POLL
The Tritons have bounced around the NFCA Top 25 Coaches Poll this season. In the preseason poll, UC San Diego ranked sixth, it's highest ranking since taking over the No. 1 slot in 2012 after being crowned National Champion in 2011. In 2020, the team dropped to 18 on Feb. 19 and jumped back up to 14 on Feb. 26. An updated poll will be released on Wednesday.
CCAA WEEKLY ACCOLADES

SPEED ON THE BASE PATHS
Senior
