CCAA TOURNAMENT RETURNS TO LA JOLLA
The Tritons will play host to the CCAA men's and women's basketball tournament next month at RIMAC Arena. The semifinals will take place on March 6 with the champions crowned March 7. This year, the men's tournament will be played in the afternoon and the women's sessions will be held at night.
In addition, the top four seeds will host a quarterfinal game on campus Tuesday, March 3. The UC San Diego women have clinched a spot in the tournament, as well as a top-two seeding. All CCAA tournament games played at UC San Diego will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
WHAT'S AT STAKE
The Tritons have clinched a share of the CCAA regular season title. With a win, they would secure sole possession, but with a loss, the Cougars would earn a share of the title as well. View the latest CCAA standings

With just one game separating the Tritons and Cougars, the top seed of the CCAA Tournament is still up for grabs. The winner of Saturday's contest will earn the number one seed, while the loser will secure the second seed. Both teams are already guaranteed to host a quarterfinal game.

UC San Diego is in its 20th and final year playing as an NCAA Division II team. In July of 2020, the entire athletics program will begin a four-year transition to NCAA Division I, culminating in full DI status as a member of the
Big West Conference for the 2024-25 academic year. At that time, all sports will be eligible for conference and NCAA postseason play.
