SAN DIEGO – The University of California San Diego women's tennis team dropped its final exhibition match of the spring, falling 6-1 at Division I foe San Diego State on Sunday afternoon in the Tritons' final tune-up match before the regular season gets underway.

HOW IT HAPPENED
San Diego State came out strong, sweeping the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
 
In singles, the lone Triton winner Sunday afternoon was senior captain Valeria Corral. She was victorious 6-3, 7-5 at No. 4 singles for UC San Diego.
 
QUOTABLE
"The team got off to a slow start at doubles against a very challenging opponent," said UC San Diego head coach Liz LaPlante. "We had some hard-fought singles matches. Valeria played unbelievable defense against a huge hitter to win her match."
