Tritons Claim Doubles Point, But Unable to Top Nevada

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The University of California San Diego men's tennis team claimed the doubles point, but ultimately fell to Nevada in a home exhibition this afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was a thrilling start for the Tritons. After the Tritons fell at first doubles, 6-4, Marc Isaia and Phillip Lan secured a 6-3 win at third doubles over their Nevada opponents. At second doubles, it was a tight matchup between Neil Tengbumroong and Cody Duong and their Nevada counterparts, but the Tritons prevailed in a 7-5 win to secure the doubles point.  
The highlight of singles was Sreeganesh Manoharan's victory at fifth singles. After falling behind 4-6 in the first set, Manoharan claimed the second set, 6-3, to force the tiebreaker. The senior came out on top, 6-3.

UP NEXT
The Tritons will return to action next weekend with the final exhibition of this three-game stretch. UC San Diego will face UC Riverside at 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 26 at SRC Tennis Courts.
